Human Remains Found At Sunken Meadow State Park In Smithtown

Police are investigating after human remains were found on a Long Island roadway.

10/30/2023 7:10 p.m.

The incident happened just before 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Sunken Meadow State Park in the town of Smithtown, Suffolk County.

Further info is pending examination by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office and further investigation by the state police.

This is an active investigation and the State Police is asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
